1 THECONSTITUTION (JAMMU AND KASHMIR) SCHEDULED TRIBESORDER, 1989

In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1)of article 342of the Constitution of India, the President, after consultation with theGovernment of the State of Jammu and Kashmir, is pleased to make the followingOrder, namely:--

1. This Ordermay be called the Constitution (Jammu and Kashmir) Scheduled Tribes Order,1989.

2. The tribes or tribal communities, or parts of, orgroups within, tribes or tribal communities, specified in the Schedule to thisOrdershall, for thepurposes of the Constitution, be deemed to be Scheduled Tribes in relation tothe State of Jammu and Kashmir so far as regards members thereof resident in that State.
