Section 72 - Salaries and Allowances of Members in Government of India Act, 1935 [Repealed]
Salaries and Allowances of Members.
Membersof Provincial Legislative Assemblies and Legislative Councils shall be entitledto receive such salaries and allowances as may from time to time be determinedby Act of the Provincial Legislature, [and until provision in that respect is somade, allowances at such rates and upon such conditions as were immediatelybefore the commencement of this Part of this Act applicable in the case ofmembers of the Legislative Council of the Province.]1

1. The words withinbrackets were omitted, by the India (Provisional Constitution) Order, 1947, andthe following Proviso was added--
"Providedthat until other provision is so made, members of the Legislative Assemblies ofWest Bengal and East Punjab shall be entitled to receive salaries and allowancesat such rates and upon such conditions as were immediately before theestablishment of the Dominion applicable in the case of members of theLegislative Assemblies of Bengal and the Punjab, respectively."
