Property and Rights of Municipal Council of the Smaller Urban Area Which Has Ceased to Exist to Vest in Government.
7. Property and rights of 1 [Municipal Council of the smaller urban area] which has ceased to exist to vest in Government.--
(1) Subject to the provisions of section 9, the 1 [Governor] may by notification declare that any local area shall from a date to be specified in the notification cease to be a 1 [smaller urban area.]
(2) When any local area 1 [ceases to be a smaller urban area], the municipal council constituted therefor shall cease to exist, and the property and rights vested in any such 1 [municipal council] shall subject to all charges and liabilities affecting the same, vest in the Government and the proceeds thereof, if any, shall be expended under the orders of the Government for the benefit of the local areas in which such 1 [municipal council] had jurisdiction.
