(1) This Act may be called the¹[Karnataka] Municipalities Act, 1964.

(2) It extends to the whole of the¹[State of Karnataka].

(3) This section and sections 2, 323, 365, 381, 383, 384 and 385 shallcome into force at once; and the rest of this Act shall come into force on such²[date] as the Government may, by notification, appoint.
